Job Description:
Court Paralegal
The candidate will assist the Deputy Prosecutors as needed in the office, as well as work in a team environment that exists throughout the office. Will return all phone calls within 24 hours. Work all File Requests and Transfer files weekly. Cite cases into court in a timely manner. Prepare cases for court two weeks prior to the court date. Ensure all cases are accounted for that appear on the docket. See that all cause numbers and notes for the court are on the docket. Make sure service type has been completed or follow up on results. Make sure that the Bench Warrant stamp has been completed on the inside of the file. Review files and complete court preparation sheets to prepare cases for hearing. Transport the court files to the appropriate person in the time frame given. Complete all dispositions on cases after court within 24 hours. Complete follow up on all cases in court. This includes sending income withholding orders when possible. Completion of updated case information in ISETS and updating case information as needed. Work all mail within 2 days of receipt. Work on work list daily; then prioritize and work weekly. Required to accurately track work daily and turn in weekly logs to Supervisor. Participate in the planning and review of the section s goals as needed. Contribute to the effective and efficient daily operations of the firm Prosecutor s Office, Child Support Division through increased and ongoing knowledge of procedures. Ensure that all work is completed in compliance of all applicable local, state, federal and IRS regulations. Abide by all policies and procedures set forth in the firm Prosecutor Office s Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual. Training for this position maybe in-person, remote, or a combination of both. Be punctual and adhere to attendance policies. Ensure that all work is completed in compliance of all applicable local, state, federal and IRS laws and regulations. Perform additional duties as assigned. Make follow up phone calls in court to verify Non-Custodial Parent s employment. Professionally address all parties in court, when dismissing Custodial Parents or interviewing both parties. Prepare Child Support Worksheets. Meet with the public to assist in completing forms and gathering needed information to be used in court. Complete judgments and agreed entries. Correctly complete continuation court cards for all parties. Complete bench warrant sheets for court staff. Appear professionally dressed in court as a paralegal as assigned. Make sure all check-in sheets have been passed out, collected and fully completed.
