Qualifications: Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing. Experience in a law firm or legal department is a plus. Must have years of experience in clinical practice is desired. Previous Law Firm experience in general litigation is a plus. Understands and complies with all other related regulatory mandates. Should have full understanding of HIPPA compliance. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint desired. Proficiency in the use of Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Adobe. Demonstrates ability to communicate in a proficient, tactful, and confident manner with external clients and internal customers. Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions.

Job Description:
Professional Nurse Paralegal
Duties: Supports attorneys with medical-related litigation. Educates attorneys regarding medical diagnoses and treatment, and prognosis. Obtains, reviews, analyzes, and summarizes medical records and legal documents. Identifies deviation in care. Obtains, reviews analyzes, and summarizes medical billing records. Identification of additional medical providers. Organizes and prepares both chronological and narrative summaries of the medical records for internal use and for presentation to the client. Evaluates pre-existing or co-existing medical conditions to determine the strengths and weaknesses in the case. Assists in the evaluation of causation and damages issues. Identifies appropriate medical experts and assists in obtaining expert consultations. Prepares medical records and imaging studies for review by medical experts. Schedule meetings and depositions for medical experts. Maintains an [medical] expert database and researches opposing counsel s experts. Conduct medical and nursing research/literature in support of the medical facts and issues in the case. Assist attorneys with medical evidence preparation and organization for depositions, mediations, hearings or trial. Prepare medical exhibits. Performs other duties as assigned.
