Qualifications: Qualifications: Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-certified paralegal program is preferred. Should have 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal within a law firm is desired. Trial experience, including exhibit preparation, witness management, and knowledge of subpoena preparation. Experience working with judicial assistants and assisting attorneys with hearings or trial preparation. Courtroom experience would be a plus. Some transactional experience also is preferred. Strong computer and IT skills, with an ability to problem-solve personal IT-related issues without assistance or significant delay. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products including Microsoft Office, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and related products. Proficiency with Firm Central/Thomson Reuters products (other practice management software is okay) and an ability to assist with the implementation of management software tasks and processes. Proficiency with Westlaw research services.
Job Description:
Litigation Paralegal
Duties: Assists attorneys in all stages of the litigation process from onset through trial and closing of the file. Assists with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, locating, and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, and maintaining firm s trial calendars and deadlines. Oversees organization, maintenance, and appropriate utilization of documents and other case materials. Some maintenance of firm s paper and electronic files in coordination with the office manager. Coordination of e-filing and serving documents. Assists with preparation for depositions. Assists with drafting and responding to written discovery, including discovery related to experts. Performs analytical tasks, including preparing witness interview memoranda, as well as review and summary of documents and deposition transcripts. Assists with motion practice, including assembling motion papers and exhibits, and electronic filing of pleadings and memoranda. Ensures proper service of pleadings on all parties.
