Job Description:
Junior Paralegal
The candidate assists in processing, tracking and filing franchise and real estate agreements following Company procedures and coordinating the dissemination of said documents to various departments within the Company. Supports the Legal Department for new contract management process being developed by the Company. Assists with corporate governance matters; creates and maintains corporate entities and develops a system for corporate records; files annual reports and maintains accurate entity management. Maintains integrity of legal files by reviewing on an ongoing basis and ensuring that all required documents are included; overall organization of the legal drive for simplicity and consistency. Prepares and updates litigation lists; assists with subpoenas and discovery requests. Assists with respect to risk-related incidents, insurance claims, and litigation. Assists with special projects on an as-needed basis, including, M&A, drafting simple correspondence, etc. Assists the Counsel in Intellectual Property matters, including obtaining pictures and updated materials. Identifies and implements process improvements within the Legal Department and with other departments. Calendars deadlines; schedules meetings and maintains calendars and organization for Executives; prepares documents for signature; sends packages and provides general administrative support when necessary, including Executive travel arrangements, expense reports, and scanning mail and emailing to necessary parties. Must be a notary public (online certification preferred). Should have 2+ years of paralegal experience. (Corporate law is a plus). Strong time management and organizational skills are essential. A high degree of attention to detail is needed. Should have the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Must have the ability to work accurately and efficiently. Should have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills are essential.
